Corporate and government support for the upcoming Rainbow Desert Enduro continues to build, as competitors prepare for the final round of the BFGoodrich CAMS Australian Off Road Championship (AORC).
Visit Victoria has thrown its support behind the event, as part of its Regional Events Fund to showcase Victoria’s thriving regional areas.
Minister for Sport, Tourism and Major Events John Eren said Rainbow was a “standout event”.
“Events like these bring visitors from across Australia and the world to see the best of everything Victoria has on offer,” Eren said.
“They keep our restaurants, hotels and pubs busy, and contribute to our visitor economy.”
On top of the State Government and AORC title sponsor, BFGoodrich, other stakeholders have also backed the event, including Hindmarsh Shire Council, Graincorp and West Wimmera Health Service.
The round also doubles as a Victorian Off Road Racing Association (VORRA) round.
CAMS CEO Eugene Arocca said the growing support showed the Championship was in a strong position.
“We’re really grateful for all our corporate partners, including the confirmation of State Government funding the event through Visit Victoria,” Arocca said.
“Having seen firsthand how exciting this event was in 2017, CAMS is looking forward to another big and successful weekend in north-western Victoria in August and we encourage everyone to head west to soak up the atmosphere of the final round of the AORC.”
The Rainbow Desert Enduro takes place on 10-12 August in Rainbow, with the Championship winner to be crowned at the conclusion of the event.
