It was Eric Schlifelner in his Saber Prolite who took out a close-fought round one of the CAMS Victorian Off Road Championship at The Bruce Fiske Memorial Enduro on Sunday 1 July.
Held at the Bagshot Motorsports Complex, 25 kilometres north east of Bendigo, Schlifelner, from the Geelong Off Road Buggy Association, won by just 12 seconds with a total time of 2:02:18 from Andrew Glover in his Sportslite. Reigning Victorian Off Road Champion David Davis rounded out the top three in 2:04:26, also in a Saber Prolite.
Schlifelner was quickest in prologue with Davis starting in second and Nigel and Brock Pendlebury third off the line in their Super 1650.
Schlifelner was quickest in heat one from Glover and Davis and held on for the win despite Glover taking out heat two, with Davis just seven seconds behind.
Round two of the CAMS VORC will take place at the Rainbow Desert Enduro in Rainbow, Victoria, from 10-12 August, alongside the third and final round of the BFGoodrich CAMS Australian Off Road Championship.
