Polaris joins AORC family for 2022

The BFGoodrich Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship (AORC) will welcome a new partner this year, with Polaris throwing its support behind the championship for 2022.

As the inaugural founding sponsor of the SXS Motorsport Australia Championship in 2015, the inclusion of SXS into this year’s AORC’s six rounds will now see Polaris partner both championships.

An international leader in power sports and off-road innovation, Polaris is an American-based manufacturer of motorcycles, snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles.

Many off road crews around the world utilise Polaris’ UTV buggies for competition, including Australia, where the most notable drivers are Simon and Jackson Evans, both of whom have been national SXS champions in recent years and currently compete in the AORC.

Motorsport Australia Director of Motorsport and Commercial Operations Michael Smith was pleased to have Polaris join the AORC family in addition to its ongoing support of SXS.

“Polaris is a brand that is synonymous with off road racing not just in Australia, but around the world, so to have them involved this year is a vote of confidence in our national off road championships,” Smith said.

“They have been heavily involved with the KINCROME SXS Motorsport Australia Championship for quite some time, but with SXS incorporated into the AORC now, it will be great to see Polaris featured in 2022 and we thank them for their support.”

KINCROME SXS Motorsport Australia Championship founder Sam Beck was thrilled to have Polaris continue backing the SXS championship.

“We have great respect for each other and Polaris have been great contributors over the years,” Beck said.

“Even with the change of schedule and formats, they have continued to back us, so to have them jump for another year goes to show that they believe in the product that we, along with the AORC, are producing.

“A big thank you must go out to the team at Polaris for their continued support.”

Polaris Australia & New Zealand Marketing Manager Kris Matich is excited for what 2022 has in store for both championships.

“Polaris is proud to be associated with the 2022 KINCROME SXS Motorsport Australia Championship,” Matich added.

“We congratulate Motorsport Australia for their ongoing evolution of the Championship, this year to be included as part of the AORC, which is a positive step to expose this fantastic form of motorsport to a much wider audience.

“This is a true national series with events across six states in eight months and combined with the AORC these events are truly presenting SXS racing in the very best environment.

“We look forward to seeing the number of competitors grow off the back of this significant evolution of the SXS Championship.”
