Josh Howells has claimed Top 10 Shootout honours at the Cobb & Co St George 399.
Howells finished three seconds ahead of Matt Hanson across the 12km course, with Toby Whateley crossing the line in third.
There was plenty of drama in the morning’s action, with yesterday’s quickest qualifier in prologue, Beau Robinson, suffering an unknown motor issue. His Extreme 2WD trophy truck was working on a fix to allow him to start the race proper when racing resumes on Saturday.
In the KINCROME SXS Motorsport Australia Championship, young gun Josh Wiedman again impressed, seventh fastest of all runners in his SXS Pro buggy.
