Justin Guy has won the 2018 Scott’s Hydraulics Services Dondingalong Off Road Challenge after coming out on top of an entertaining battle with Phill Lovett.
The win made it four in a row for Guy who continues to dominate the competition, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing, with Lovett’s strong performance ensuring a tight finish.
After recording the fastest prologue time, Lovett was neck-and-neck with Guy throughout the first two heats with just 11 seconds separating the two, before Guy and navigator Eric Hume used their experience to power ahead in the third heat.
Lovett and navigator Luke Stanley recovered in the fourth but the damage had already been done with the pair having to settle for second overall, while winning the SxS Turbo class.
Justin Chisholm and Irene Keramidas rounded out the top three as well as winning the SxS Sports class as three different classes sat on the overall podium.
Finishing fourth overall was Mat Huxley and Luke Stanley, who came second to Guy in the Pro Buggy class, while David Chandler and Michael Smith finished third in class.
Alex Grady and Shane Smith took second place honours in the SxS Sports class while Joel Dullard and Gabe Savage rounded out the top 10 and the third place in the class.
In the remaining classes, Luke Kenyon was victorious in the Extreme 2WD class, Scott Brown and Tony Burgess the Super 1650 class, Anthony Abson the Sportslite class, Michael Keen the Prolite class, Gregory and Sarah Barron the Sportsman class and Ian and Allen Cotton-Young winning the Extreme 4WD class.
