The unseeded Prologue Start times for this weekend’s Markwell Group Gold City 450 are now available online.
Kicking off the 2023 Polaris Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship (AORC) season, the newest event on the calendar will take place over two bumper days.
The 55 entered crews will complete nine laps of the 50-kilometre course over three sections, the first of which runs on Saturday morning.
However, before the action gets underway, all crews must get through the Prologue early on Saturday morning to secure their starting place – a crucial element to a good start to the season.
As it stands, Production 4WD stalwart Geoff Pickering will be the first to tackle the 10km course at 8:15am (AEST), while reigning SXS Champion James Cook leads the 21-car SXS Pro class at 8:52am.
The Pro Buggies are the last class to get underway and interestingly, it’s the returning Josh Howells who starts first ahead of Jake Swinglehurst and reigning champion Ryan Taylor at 9:26am.
Simon Ievers will be the final car to complete Prologue at 9:41am.
Crews will then take on Section One at 10:30am on Saturday, before the remaining two sections will be run on Sunday.
The Markwell Group Gold City 450 takes place in Charters Towers, Queensland, on 10-12 March.
