The iconic Tatts Finke Desert Race is eager to recruit more officials to get involved in this year’s event, which also doubles as the third round of the Polaris Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship (AORC).
The Finke Desert Race is a multi-day event that runs on the King’s Birthday long weekend and hosts the best off road competitors across two and four wheels, as crews battle it out to be the fastest on the famous course from Alice Springs to the remote Finke community.
It is one of the biggest annual sporting events in the Northern Territory and has a reputation of being one of the most difficult off road courses in the world, as well as being a bucket list item for competitors, officials and spectators alike.
This year marks the 43rd running of the event, with officials required across a range of roles. Last year more than 300 volunteers and officials were integral to putting on an incredible weekend of off road action.
The community event is organised and operated off the back of the support of officials and volunteers, with minimal prerequisites to suit any individual who is looking to get involved.
Those interested in signing up for the event should visit the Finke website officials’ hub.
The 43rd edition of the Tatts Finke Desert Race will take place on 9-12 June in Alice Springs and Finke.
