Brandle returns home a champion after Kalgoorlie success

While Travis Robinson may have wrapped up the outright Polaris Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship (AORC) title months ago, last month’s Black Diamond Drilling Kalgoorlie Desert Race proved vital for many other drivers, including Mel Brandle.

A 10th place finish in the season finale saw the South Australian secure outright second for the year, as well as claiming the Prolite class title ahead of Victoria’s Alan Dixon.

The result sees a complete flip in emotions from the same time last year, where Brandle unfortunately suffered a DNF to finish the season on a low note.

However, this year Brandle returns home as a class champion and the runner-up of the outright AORC.
