Loveday 400 opens entries as start date nears

Excitement is brewing ahead of this year’s Loveday 400, with official registrations to the annual off road event now open to competitors.

Serving as the third stop of the BFGoodrich Australian Off Road Championship, Loveday 4×4 Adventure Park in South Australia’s Riverland region will attract thousands of riders and spectators across 25-27 July, further continuing its reputation as one of the country’s largest off road driving events.

Event Manager Tony Whateley was thrilled to open entries to this year’s race to AORC, SXS, and SA State Championship crews, which will tackle the 400km-long course

“Loveday 400 is undoubtedly Australia’s premier spectator race, providing viewing experiences like no other for motorsports fans,” Whateley said.

“On-site camping at Loveday Tavern is again on offer for attendees with a range of food options, well-maintained spectator lawns and an unrivalled atmosphere along the Murray River, providing the ultimate setting to witness trackside action.

“The course still showcases a dynamic challenge for vehicles, evolving from favouring fast and sleek buggies on the first racing day, before welcoming trucks the following day as the track roughens up.”

Registrations for the Loveday 400 are now live. Head to the Registrations portal to secure your spot.

Kiwi Boston Morgan-Horan and his navigator David Morgan secured the outright win at last year’s Loveday 400, finishing 24 seconds ahead of Brett Comiskey and Corey Cooper, whileBeau Robinson and Shane Hutt rounded out the podium in third.

“The dedicated Loveday crew has already started putting in the hard yards getting the track race-ready for another exhilarating event,” Whateley added.

“Without their help, without their commitment and dedication, this event does not go ahead. We remain extremely grateful each year, we’re lucky to have our officials and what they provide.

“It’s already promising to be an adrenaline-fuelled showdown for all involved, we recommend getting entries in early so drivers across all categories make sure they are a part of this year’s spectacle.”

Loveday follows on after the recent Tatts Finke Desert Race, that saw brothers Travis and Beau Robinson secure an emotional 1-2 finish. The South Australian event will be a pivotal point in this year’s AORC and SXS Championships, as Loveday will signify the halfway mark of this year’s championships.
