Motorsport Australia would like to inform competitors on an important safety and regulation update regarding permitted fuels for the SXS competition.
As approved by the Australian Off Road Commission (AORCOM), new regulations have been introduced to address concerns regarding the volume of fuel being carried in competition.
As a result, E85 and similar ethanol-based fuels will no longer be permitted for use in SXS classes. Moving forward, competitors must use only Pump Fuel, as defined in Schedule G of the Motorsport Australia Manual.
This decision reflects Motorsport Australia’s commitment to safety for the entire motorsport community – competitors, officials, and spectators. It ensures the integrity of competition while upholding the highest safety standards.
Motorsport Australia is dedicated to a safe and fair Off Road racing environment at club, state, and national levels. Safety is a priority for all competitors, and we encourage everyone to review the updated regulations before upcoming events.
